Saxon East / Journalist, Insurance Times

Saxon has enjoyed a 17-year career in journalism, working across local newspapers, national newspapers and trade press. A history graduate, Saxon gained his post-university National Council of Training Journalist certificate in 2000, and then followed it up by obtaining the senior qualification, National Certificate Examination (NCE) in 2005. The exams cover law, public affairs, shorthand, and writing skills.  

He began his newspaper career at the Portsmouth News before moving to South London Newspapers where he edited the Streatham Guardian. Saxon next worked a crime reporter for a court agency and then worked as freelance for the Daily Express, Daily Mail and Metro. He joined Insurance Times in 2008 as news editor, becoming content editor and eventually editor, his current position. He has been editor for three years.
