Simon Duffy MBE, founder, Bulldog Skincare for Men Simon Duffy, MBE, is the founder of Bulldog Skincare For Men, the leading men’s skincare brand. He is an adept business speaker, who has experience building and developing a global brand.

Noticing a gap in the market for male skincare products enriched with natural ingredients, Simon and his business partner Rhodri Ferrier decided to combine their life savings and max out credit cards in order to start their own company, which would later be named Bulldog. Today, the range is listed in over 17,000 stores worldwide and successfully competes with leading multinational brands such as L’Oréal, Nivea and Dove, despite working with a fraction of their resources.

He has a great deal of experience working with major retailers in the UK and around the world. When the company started out, they took it to Sainsbury’s hoping that they would stock Bulldog products in their stores. Bulldog was launched nationwide in July 2007, and, following this, the brand experienced fast growth in the UK and was launched in Boots, Tesco, Waitrose, Asda, Morrisons, Ocado, Whole Foods Market and Planet Organic.

In 2010, the Bulldog range was launched in Sweden, and, since then, the brand has expanded quickly overseas and can now be found in 15 countries including America, Germany, Korea, Thailand and Australia. Bulldog has also won several important business awards including the National Business Awards’ ‘SME of the Year’ for 2014, Grocer Gold Awards in 2014 and 2012, the HSBC Start-Up Star Award for 2008, the RSPCA Good Business Award for 2008, and Marketing Week’s Engage Award for 2011. Moreover, it has won numerous grooming awards in many different countries.

Prior to founding Bulldog, Simon was a founding member of Fahrenheit 212, the world’s leading innovation consultancy (Fahrenheit-212.com). During this time, Simon worked on innovation projects for numerous billion-dollar brands including Fanta, Starbucks, Samsung, Smirnoff, and Yoplait.

Simon has written columns for the Daily Telegraph, the Independent, Growing Business and Smarta. He has appeared as a guest on the BBC’s ‘Working Lunch’ and ‘Show Me the Money’ programs, and has been featured as a commentator on SKY News, CNBC and Reuters TV. Simon has also featured on radio shows for the BBC and LBC.

In 2016, Simon was awarded an MBE for services to the beauty industry. Amongst other interests, Simon serves as a non-executive director for the wine merchants Corney & Barrow, and is a visiting fellow at the New College of the Humanities in London.
