Mike Hammond, chairman, Lockton International Holdings Ltd, Lockton Overseas Limited
Mike is chairman of Lockton International, based in London. He joined Lockton in June 2006 and immediately following Lockton International’s formation, Mike embarked on a major reorganisation of the business and hired a new leadership team; over 500 new associates have since joined Lockton around the world.
Prior to Lockton, Mike started his career as a graduate trainee at Sedgwick in the UK and held various positions, culminating in his appointment as a director of Sedgwick’s European Board. Following the acquisition of Sedgwick by Marsh in 1998, Mike led risk consulting operations in the UK and was appointed CEO of all Marsh UK operations in April 2000.
Mike has also lived and worked in the USA. Between 1992 and 1997, he led the formation of Sedgwick Global in six North American cities. During this time, Mike led the Sedgwick teams involved in acquiring and servicing a number of major global appointments for GE, Pfizer, Dow Corning, Bacardi, Phillips, Astra Zeneca and ICI.
Mike has also been a director of the Lockton Inc. Board since 2011.

Mike has 35 years’ experience in insurance & reinsurance broking and risk management for global corporations. His specialist fields include global insurance programmes, complex liability, legacy and tort claims, specialist ART structures and captive utilisation.
Mike has a number of Community and Charitable interests including Whizz Kidz and Ace-Africa and was previously engaged with Drug and Homeless charities in East London through Business in the Community (BitC).
